Brown Wedding | Marvis Arts and Event Center | Indianapolis, Indiana

Updated: Dec 8, 2019

My last wedding of the year is always so bittersweet. While I look forward to having a few Saturdays off, it is always sad to have my season be coming to an end. However this year we ended the 2019 wedding season ON A HIGH. Literally the Brown wedding was absolutely stunning and I could not have asked for a better wedding to end with. Seriously the venue, the bride and groom, the color palette, the details of the day, the bridal party, every single aspect of this day was incredible. So incredible in fact it literally took me two hours to narrow it down to 50-60 photos for this blog post. I had so many favorites that I initially started with 200, and was in love with every single one that it was so hard to narrow it down. Sometimes my photos feel like my babies and I have to basically eliminate a baby. Dramatic, but when the photos are this good because the wedding was that stunning, that is truly what it feels like.

I normally start off with the details of the day, but I want to talk about this venue. Katie and Richard were wed at the Marvis Arts and Events Center and HOLY STUNNING. This venue instantly rose to the top of my list as one of my favorite venues when I walked in the door. Not only is it urban, but it has a glam feel to it which I loved. It offers 4 floors, two different gorgeous outdoor spaces, and a view of the Indianapolis Skyline, and let me tell you we utilized nearly every space of this venue, especially the outdoor space. This venue also offered a gorgeous space for the girls and guys to get ready in that made getting ready photos dreamy. Literally I loved every single aspect of this venue and wish I shot there every weekend. There is just so many good spaces not only for photos, but for your wedding. You could fully customize this space in so many ways, it is just sooooo good. But enough about the venue, which I could talk about for hours, the details of this day were seriously stunning. Katie and Richard went with a maeve, sage, and copper color palette and it was stunning. Definitely one of my favorite color palettes I had ever seen, combined with navy suits and I was obsessed. This color palette was carried throughout the day and was just absolutely stunning and don't even get me started on the florals. I was obsessed with Katie's bouquet. IT WAS GORGEOUS. It was so filled with greenery and then white and pale pink flowers, it was just fantastic and popped with Katie's dress. Which let me tell you, Katie's dress was seriously stunning and I was obsessed with it. Hands down one of my favorite dresses I have seen all year, but this wedding was pretty much just a favorite all around. It was so beautifully planned and executed, and I loved it. Not a single detail was missed, from Katie's shoes which perfectly matched the bridesmaids dresses, to the socks the girls whore as they got ready, to the twinkly lights on the reception tables, to the guest favorite hot chocolate bar at the cocktail hour, literally this wedding was so amazing.

Now that I have rambled on about the details of the day, I do also want to ramble about the bridal party. Katie's bridesmaids were seriously the best. Every single one was hands on the entire day, from helping her dress maintain the perfect fluff during photos, to helping button all the little buttons on Katie's sleeves, to making sure Katie had something to drive and she got a mac and cheese ball before they were all gone. They loved so hard on Katie for her wedding day and it was seriously so stinking sweet. Plus let's be real, they all looked gorgeous, and was one dang photogenic group I swear. Now Richard also had some seriously great groomsmen. His one groomsmen helped with giving me the time every time I asked and making sure the bridal party was where they needed to be for photos at the right time. His best man kept everyone laughing, seriously he was hilarious. The other two groomsmen loved on Richard just as much by helping him with his cuff links, and tie, making sure he had a drink, and making sure he looked his best during photos. Seriously this was such a sweet bridal party that I absolutely adored. Plus the maid of honor and best man gave two of the best speeches I have ever heard.

Of course with a day this amazing, there was an amazing couple at the center of it all. I so dearly loved working with Katie and Richard, and honestly very sad it is over! These two are so sweet together. They are one of those couples that just perfectly come together and complete each other in every way. Literally all you have to do is spend five minutes with these two and you know that they are meant to be together. The way Richard looks at Katie, it is literally like something out of a Nicholas Sparks movie and the exact way all girls want to be looked at. But Katie also looks at Richard like he is the whole entire world, and it is so sweet. These two look for each other in a crowded room, even when they were socializing during cocktail hour they were sneaking glances at each other and smiling ear to ear. They just absolutely radiate with love for each other. They were both so in love on their wedding and it showed. I wish I could photograph this couple again and again because their love is just so wonderful and such a pleasure to document.
