Ostler Wedding | Yolo's Event Center | Fort Wayne, Indiana
Updated: Dec 8, 2019
I know when I share a wedding I normally share as much of the day as possible, ideally going from details all the way to the reception. However I limit my blog post to an image count so I don't blog 200 photos from every wedding, and for some weddings the details are just too pretty, the light is way too perfect in the portraits, and the couple is just killing it, and I can not resist filling the blog post with all details and portraits. The Ostler Wedding is one of those weddings, so you will not be seeing any reception photos, or anything from the ceremony because Lauren and Jimmy literally had some of the prettiest details I have ever photographed, and their portraits, as well as the bridal parties were just too good to limit enough for those extra shots. So basically this wedding had such pretty portraits I filled the blog post with them.
Lauren and I spent the days leading up to her wedding praying the forecast would change. They were calling for Thunderstorms, and Lauren so wanted to do their photos in Headwaters. Thankfully those prayers were heard and we literally had the prettiest weather. I am talking 75 and partly cloudy, just absolutely perfect for one seriously stunning wedding. Lauren and Jimmy had both their ceremony and reception at Yolo's Even Center. Yolo's offers a seriously stunning outdoor space where you can get married right in front of a waterfall with your family and friends around. A gorgeous outdoor space that we then utilized for family portraits. The inside was the perfect environment for a reception that would have some of the best dancing I had ever seen. Seriously Lauren's dad was killing it with his dance moves and I can not wait to deliver their photos simply so they can see the photos of her dad on the dance floor. They also had some seriously yummy food, so basically I could not have asked for a better venue to be shooting at for this wedding. But besides the venue, Lauren and Jimmy chose a seriously STUNNING color palette, purple and silver. Their flowers were hands down one of my favorites I have ever seen, and I spent a lot of time looking at the bouquets with admiration. They then tied in the purple at their reception with gorgeous purple accents and centerpieces made by Lauren's mom. The color palette was also gorgeous when it came to attire. I love the look of grey and purple on the groomsmen, and the pretty purple dresses combined with the stunning florals. They took their colors right into their details with the prettiest invitations. Seriously obsessed with those purple watercolor flower. Lauren also had my favorite bridal earrings I have ever seen, I could have photographed them all day.
Outside of the "things" of the day, Lauren and Jimmy had one awesome bridal party. First off Lauren's maid of honor was a total dream to work with in that she kept Lauren's stunning train laid perfectly out the entire time, rearranging it, or positioning it every time I asked, throwing it out for the perfect shot, and always being right there to take Lauren's flowers when I pulled them out. So basically Ashlynn needs to be hired for every wedding I shoot. She was so great! Besides here there were 9 other amazing people who were such a blast. They kept the dance floor going all night, made for a lot of laughs during portraits, and tried any idea I threw at them for photos. This was definitely a dream team of groomsmen and bridesmaids, and let me tell you they were all so sweet, and loved on Lauren and Jimmy so hard on their wedding day.
Now to the main part of the day, and why we were there, Lauren and Jimmy. Writing about Lauren and Jimmy is kind of bittersweet. I first met Lauren to discuss her big day nearly 15 months ago, meaning 15 months of planning and talking about their wedding has come to an end, and I am kind of sad about it. However I am so happy for these two and the fact that they are finally husband and wife after seven years of dating. This day has definitely been dreamt about for quite some time, and I was so filled with happiness as I watched these two high school sweethearts become husband and wife. Seriously the happiness and excitement surrounding these two on their big day could not have been any more contagious, and I am seriously so thankful I was a part of this wedding. The entire day was so filled with joy, and these two are seriously so loved by their family and friends. It was a wedding that I felt was spent on cloud nine for everyone. So if we could go back and do the day again I would not be mad about it at all.
