Lulling Wedding | Concordia Lutheran Church and Dupont Downs | Fort Wayne, Indiana

Updated: Dec 8, 2019

This year has been a full year of photographing people I knew, from old childhood friends, to people I attended high school or middle school with. Photographing someone I know just makes my job that much sweeter, especially when I get to photograph their wedding. Keirsten and Andrew are yet another couple that I knew personally before them becoming my clients. I went to high school for two years with Keirsten and had several college classes with Andrew. That's why when Andrew and Keirsten got engaged I was over the moon when Andrew contacted me about being their wedding photographer. These two are even so awesome that they referred Keirsten's sister to me for her wedding, and Andrew's sister my way for her senior photos. So basically I totally adored these two before I even had a chance to photograph their wedding.

Andrew and Keirsten got married on the prettiest fall day. Late October is the perfect time for the leaves and everything was covered with gorgeous fall colors, which is why we couldn't resist heading to Shoaff Park for their photos. They were married at Concordia Lutheran with their reception at Dupont Downs, which was a new venue for me, and I have to say it is now on my favorites list. Their wedding was covered in fall colors, seriously wait till you see the centerpieces and the bouquets they were GORGEOUS, with other gorgeous details including the prettiest bridesmaids dresses, Keirsten's stunning dress, and literally a million other things I could mention. I do have to take the time to mention Keirsten's stunning makeup, which actually was done by someone we went to high school with. As well as mention their unique marbled wedding cake with the coolest metal cake topper, seriously the details of their wedding were magazine worthy, and some of my all time favorites.

Besides the gorgeous details and the fact that it was literally a perfect day, seriously we prayed and prayed the rain would hold off, and sure enough it did until the reception started, there was this incredible couple that we were celebrating. I want to highlight their story because Andrew had me laughing with his answers on the questionnaire about their story and their beginnings. Keirsten and Andrew both went on a mission trip to Alaska and were dating other people. While on this mission trip, they both happened to get dumped on the same day. This lead them to spending time together on the mission trip bonding over the fact that they were both broken up with, and they started dating not long after. This past winter they headed off to Panama City and Andrew pushed, yes he said pushed, Keirsten into scuba diving with him, knowing fully he was going to propose. He proposed underwater in an air pocked 30 feet down and she said yes. Andrew said the proposal was a success because she didn't drown. He also mentioned in the space for comments or questions that the more unflattering surprise pictures I took the better. Basically a fun loving couple who were just celebrating their wedding fully which I loved. There wedding was a total blast and this couple was surrounded with so much love and support. This was definitely the perfect wedding to end my weddings this year on!
