McLean Wedding | The Old Barn of Brown County | Nashville, Indiana

Updated: Dec 8, 2019

I do not know Kayleigh and Mikey as well as I know some of my couples. In fact, until their wedding day I had never officially met either of them. I had simply exchanged emails, and texts with them. While some may think this is crazy, I think it is awesome to have couples trust me so much that they feel comfortable hiring me without even having met me face to face. When Kayleigh contacted me about her wedding day and booked I was a little nervous. Mainly because the wedding was three hours away, in Nashville, Indiana, an area I had never even been to. I had no idea what Kaylee or Mikey looked like, did not know any wedding details, and it was not at a wedding venue that had a website. I was 100% blind walking into this day. While this is defiantly not my normal, every once and awhile I enjoy a challenge. My second shooter and I drove three hours and spent the time talking about what the day was going to be like.

The GPS brought out to the middle of no where, or should I say a wedding venue well hidden. The venue included a house, a barn, and some gorgeous land, perfect for taking photos. The house reminding me of a cute bed and breakfast. The barn equally adorable, and complete with a ivy covered entrance. As far as wedding venues go, this one was defiantly a hidden gem. I was greeted by the groom and his groomsman. They were sharing a few pre-wedding beers, hoping to quiet the nerves, while trying to keep each other cool in the Southern Indiana heat. Mikey then directed me to the house where Kayleigh was getting ready surrounded by her closet friends, and the cutest flower girl. I was greeted by bridesmaids in mismatching dresses, and a very nervous Kayleigh as her hair dresser was rushing to finish her hair. Nerves were high, and the fact that the court house forgot to give Kayleigh the marriage license did not help, but everything fell into place.

Kayleigh and Mikey's day was absolutely beautiful. They got married under a gorgeous tree on the property surrounded by the closest of friends and family. Their ceremony was sweet including hand written vows, an emotional groom (my favorite), and a tree planting ceremony. Their reception followed included lots of dancing, great food, corn hole, and a ton of cute little ones running the dance floor. But besides all of the details there was this amazing couple in the middle of it all. You could tell that these two were meant to be! They were all smiles and giggles when they were together. Kayleigh looked stunning, and Mikey never let her forget it. I could keep going but I am going to let my pictures speak for now!
